Ten Australian horses among noms for Dubai World Cup meeting
Australian horses figure prominently in the entries for the Dubai World Cup meeting.
With nominations closing on Monday, 10 Australian-trained stars representing three stables were listed for races at the gala meeting on March 28.
Chris Waller has entered five horses – headed by the Godolphin sprinter Beiwacht in the Al Quoz Sprint.
Yulong-owned River Of Stars and Angel Capital, Group 1 winner Joliestar and imported stayer Valiant King are also Waller nominations.
Melbourne’s Corstens and Larkins training partnership has entered three horses.
The stable’s trio of Baraqiel, Zou Sensation and Marble Nine have all been nominated for the Al Quoz.
Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Tentyris is also an Al Quoz entry, while his Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained stablemate Tom Kitten has been nominated for the Godolphin Mile and Dubai Turf.
Breeders’ Cup Classic hero Forever Young and past Dubai World Cup winners, Laurel River, and Hit Show, headline entries for the main event.
The meeting also includes the Dubai Sheema Classic, which has attracted 95 nominations including Calandagan, rated the world’s best horse in 2025, the 2024 winner Rebel’s Romance, Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Ethical Diamond, and reigning champion Danon Decile.
