Bendigo maintenance work forces meeting switch

Work on Bendigo’s surface has necessitated a meeting in April being moved from the track to Echuca.

Following Bendigo’s March 27 meeting, the course proper will be oversowed with rye grass in readiness for the winter months and for the ongoing sustainability of the surface.

That will mean the April 16 meeting will be moved to allow adequate time for the Bendigo surface to be at its peak ahead of the club’s feature Golden Mile day meeting on Saturday May 2.

Meanwhile, Racing NSW stewards have altered the times of Wednesday’s race meeting to account for the hot weather.

Race 1 will now commence at 2:55pm, while all remaining races will be pushed back one time slot with Race 7 being run at 6:25pm.
