Morgan buys breeding right in champion Anamoe
Queensland breeder Laird Morgan has snapped up a breeding right in champion racehorse Anamoe for $450,000.
The cattleman, whose presence in the thoroughbred industry has increased in recent years, purchased the breeding right in the Darley-based stallion after it was initially passed in at auction via Inglis Digital on Wednesday.
The first crop yearlings by nine-time Group 1 winner Anamoe, who is by Street Boss, have averaged more than $417,000 at the Australasian sales so far this year with a Widden Stud-bred and sold colt fetching $1.1 million at the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.
Eleven yearlings by Anamoe will be offered at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, which starts on Sunday.
