The Troubleshooter cleared to run in Showdown

The John Sadler-trained The Troubleshooter has been cleared to contest the $1 million VOBIS Platinum Showdown at Caulfield following a veterinary reinspection.

The two-year-old had previously shown changes to his gait during early checks on Thursday, prompting a follow-up inspection by Racing Victoria veterinarians on Friday morning.

After a reinspection, The Troubleshooter was declared “suitable to race”. The son of I Am Immortal is a $23 chance despite making a promising start to his career behind Gin Twist and La Gitana at Flemington in February.

Tagaloa filly Miss Chanel, twice placed at stakes level for Tulloch Lodge trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, is the $3.40 favourite.

Miss Chanel will be on a seven-day back-up after finishing third to Chayan in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes at Randwick last Saturday.
