Earthstorm tops Magic Millions Digital Sale

Group-performed mare Earthstorm topped the Magic Millions Digital Sale after attracting a winning bid of $155,000 from SM & KB Bloodstock.

The online auction was extended by 24 hours following the nationwide Telstra outage, with Earthstorm generating strong interest as a racing and breeding prospect. A Group 2 Karrakatta Plate placegetter at two, the mare attracted 31 bids from buyers across Australia before the hammer fell.

SM & KB Bloodstock’s Kyle Sutherland said the team had been tracking Earthstorm since her juvenile season and retained confidence in her potential.

“She’ll stay in the West and join Stefan’s stable, where she’ll race for at least another 12 months before eventually joining our broodmare ranks,” Sutherland said.

Strong results were also achieved across the racehorses, race fillies and mares categories, which combined for a clearance rate of more than 76 per cent.

Well-related mare Midnight Star sold for $45,000 to PJ Racing, while last-start Eagle Farm winner June realised $30,000 when purchased by Home Creek Pastoral.

Unraced two-year-old filly Speedy Harriet, offered by Yarraman Park, was secured by Jason Coyle Racing for $30,000.

Shares again proved popular, recording a 100 per cent clearance rate, highlighted by a 7.5 per cent share in unraced juvenile Lucky General selling for $13,000.
