Mulcaster takes shine to Magic Millions mare in foal to Broadsiding

Proven black-type producing mare Pellicle topped the Magic Millions Digital Sale, selling for $180,000 to bloodstock agent Guy Mulcaster in the online auction that concluded on Wednesday.

Offered by Baramul Stud as Lot 64, Pellicle is a half-sister to Divine Madonna and from the family of recent Group 1 winners Tentyris, Baraqiel and Autumn Angel.

The mare is in foal to Darley stallion and champion two-year-old Broadsiding, with the foal due next month, and has already produced Western Australian Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes and Listed Supremacy Stakes winner Live To Tell.

Among the racehorses offered, five-year-old gelding Point Rocks sold to Tom Wolfe for $30,000, while race fillies Scottish Pearl and Acquired Taste realised $30,000 and $25,000 respectively.

The Forest View Farm Unreserved Dispersal also attracted strong interest, with eight of its 13 yearlings receiving more than 20 bids and an Ingratiating-Rebel Assault colt selling to Fenix Racing for $55,000.

The colt, offered as Lot 44, is a half-brother to Gimcrack Stakes winner Siren Assault, with the Forest View Farm dispersal having grossed more than $1.8 million across the past two Magic Millions Digital Sales.
