Another five gambling and casino sites have found their way onto the Australian Communications and Media Authority blocked list.

ACMA has requested internet service providers (ISPs) block the sites Slot Lounge, Betzillo, FastSpin99, Spinit and PokiesPros after they were found to have brached the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

A total of 1322 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked while 220 illegal services have also pulled out of the Australian market since the ACMA started enforcing new illegal online gambling rules in 2017.

“The ACMA is reminding consumers that even if a service looks legitimate, it’s unlikely to have important customer protections. This means Australians who use illegal gambling services risk losing their money,” it said.

ACMA is one of several key regulators in the online gambling space and is charged with enforcing the Interactive Gambling Act.

The unregulated or illegal betting market is said to be costing regulated operators anything between $1 billion and $2 billion in revenue.
