Another Ka Ying record as streak stretches to 19

Hong Kong star sprinter Ka Ying Rising took his winning streak to 19, comfortably beating six rivals to claim the Sprint Cup (1200m) on Monday.

Sat off the early pace of Stellar Express, Zac Purton eased Ka Ying Rising through his gears and then sailed away to a 4.25-length win, completing the 1200 metres in a time of 1:07.12.

That was enough for him to lower the Sha Tin track record for the fourth time as he builds up towards the Chairman’s Sprint Prize on April 26 and a 20th straight success.

In the Group 2 Chairman’s Trophy, Lucky Sweynesse held on to defeat My Wish and Voyage Bubble.
