Annabel and Rob Archibald have nominated five horses in a bid to win back-to-back Railway Stakes, including defending champion Port Lockroy.

The eastern states-based training pair also have Bosustow, Cristal Clear, Depth of Character and Mighty Ulysses for the Railway on November 22, while Bois D’Argent is one a trio for the Northerly Stakes two weeks later.

Ostraka, Libertad and Coco Jamboo were entered for the Winterbottom Stakes, while the Archibalds hold six noms for the $1.5 million Gold Rush on December 13.

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have six horses nominated for the Railway, Catoggio, Les Vampires, Major Beel, New Endeavour, Royal Patronage and Shangri La Spring.

Multiple Group 1 winner Stefa Magnetica is among five Railway entrants for Bjorn Baker, while Ciaron Maher has Group 1-winning pair Gringotts and Light Infantry Man, who won the Northerly last year, along with Vivy Air.

There are five Railway entrants from Lindsay Park, who also have four in the Northerly, including Saturday’s Group 1 Toorak Handicap runner-up Evaporate in both races.

The Everest pair Overpass (Baker) and War Machine (Hayes) are among entries for the Winterbottom, along with 2022 Everest winner Giga Kick (Clayton Douglas).
