Bargain Twokay Pete leads to Page’s metropolitan breakthrough
Emerging Seymour trainer Melissa Page has broken through at metropolitan level for the first time with Twokay Pete continuing his run of summer form.
The six-year-old sprinter, who was also Page’s first winner at Wycheproof in November 2024, made it three wins in his past four starts with a victory in a 0-66 Handicap over 1000 metres at Sandown on Wednesday with Tasmanian apprentice Jackson Radley in the saddle.
Page is running a small stable at Seymour from a complex formerly occupied by stakes-winning trainer David Bourne. She has also linked with Mailbag Bloodstock to prepare a handful of horses for the Jack Dickens-led syndicator from the property adjacent to the Seymour racecourse.
Twokay Pete was Page’s sixth winner from 34 runners. Mailbag Bloodstock bought two tried horses on Wednesday’s Inglis Digital sale, Super Seth gelding Setheus ($20,000) and Justify gelding Triple Salute ($32,500).
