Ka Ying Rising will be pitted against five rivals in a Sydney barrier trial vital to the Hong Kong star’s $20 million Everest bid.
An odds-on Everest favourite to confirm his rating as the world’s best sprinter in the Everest, Ka Ying Rising will contest a heat over 1000m on the Randwick course proper on Tuesday.
Trainer David Hayes will be trackside and jockey Zac Purton will fly in to ride the five-year-old.
Ka Ying Rising will take on three other Everest runners in Angel Capital, Joliestar and Overpass.
King George III Stakes contenders Fangirl and Mr Brightside complete the barrier trial line-up.
