When three-year-old Bedourie, appropriately carrying the Yulong silks, collected his Maiden victory at Geelong on Friday, it brought up his sire Written Tycoon’s 1000th individual winner.

Written Tycoon remains a banner stallion for Yulong where he will again stand at a private fee in 2025 as he enters the twilight of an outstanding stud career.

He was champion Australian sire in 2020/2021, and with an array of high-class Yulong mares at his disposal, is set to leave an indelible mark on the breeding industry for many years to come.

He joins I Am Invincible (1031), Snitzel (1291), Street Cry (1126), Fastnet Rock (1591), Exceed And Excel (1897), Lonhro (1093), Encosta De Lago (1156), Flying Spur (1024) and Danehill (1624).

Written Tycoon added to his tally with Australian Easter Yearling Sale purchase Imaginate breaking through at Pakenham’s synthetic track meeting on Monday.

Imaginate was allowed to find his feet over 1200m and came from last on the home turn to finish off between runners for jockey Ben Allen.

Offered as part of the Yulong draft, Imaginate cost $300,000, selling to PR Thoroughbreds and is raced by a high-powered syndicate of owners out of the Lindsay Park stable.

He is the first foal from the Snitzel mare Time Is Precious, a Randwick winner who was stakes-placed in three of her five juvenile starts for the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou stable.
