Coolmore secures Nysos’ stud deal

Coolmore secured an interest in multiple Grade 1 winner Nysos, with the five‑year‑old to race in partnership with Baoma Corp. through the 2026 American season before retiring to Ashford Stud in Kentucky.

The son of Nyquist enhanced his elite standing with a commanding four-length victory in the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap at Saratoga on June 6, stopping the clock in 1:34.85—just shy of the track record.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Nysos won by 10.5 lengths on debut before adding the Bob Hope Stakes (G3) and Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G3).

A setback curtailed his Triple Crown bid, but he returned at four to finish a close second in the Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) before going unbeaten for the rest of the season, highlighted by victories in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) and multiple graded races.

Now boasting eight wins and two seconds from 10 starts and earnings of about $5.3 million, Nysos also placed second behind international star Forever Young in the Saudi Cup (G1) earlier this year.

He is expected to continue racing through the Breeders’ Cup World Championships before beginning his stud career in Kentucky.
