Coolmore-owned Group-winning three-year-old colt Public Attention is headed to Hong Kong after being sold privately.

The son of Written Tycoon, a $160,000 buy for Coolmore Australia principal Tom Magnier at the 2023 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sale, won two of his eight starts for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr.

He won the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes in February, defeating subsequent Group 1 winner Linebacker, and was then eight in the NZB Kiwi before running third on the Group 2 Arrowfield Stakes at Randwick over The Championships.

"He was quite lucky for our stable," Kent Jnr told Racing.com. "I still think he's on the up and up and he'll make a lovely horse in the Hong Kong environment.

“He's got the absolute best temperament, he's an extremely sound horse and above all, he's got smart ability.

"I think he's got a very good chance to be very successful up there in Hong Kong."

The last two Hong Kong Derby winners have been sold by Coolmore, including Cap Ferrat, who had 13 starts for Chris Waller.
