D’Arcy to chair AgriFutures thoroughbred advisory panel
Experienced industry figure Jonathan D’Arcy has been appointed as chair of the AgriFutures Thoroughbred Horses Program Advisory Panel.
Bringing more than 45 years of knowledge to the role, including 39 with auction house Inglis, D’Arcy is on the panel alongside Australian Stud Book registrar Jacqueline Stewart, veterinarians Dr Guy Lester, Dr Wendy Perriam and Dr Fiona Lacey as well as Victorian studmaster Ryan Arnel who operates Stonehouse Thoroughbreds.
D’Arcy, who joined the panel last August, has previously served on the Inglis board and chaired the Society of International Thoroughbred Auctioneers (SITA), where he led key reforms in industry standards. He replaces Queensland industry allrounder Michael Grieve as chair of the AgriFutures body.
In partnership with AgriFutures Australia, the advisory panel provides recommendations on research, development and education funding to improve the sustainability, productivity and global competitiveness of the local industry.
