Extremely Tempted delivers on promise with Hawkesbury debut win

Well-bred juvenile Extremely Tempted made a winning debut at Hawkesbury on Wednesday, taking out an 1100m midweek metropolitan-level event littered with high-priced first starters.

Prepared by leading trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, the striking chestnut colt had shown ability in two lead-up trials and carried that form to race day.

Ridden by Regan Bayliss, who partnered him in both trials, Extremely Tempted began cleanly, assumed control early and dictated throughout before scoring by nearly two lengths.

Katoto, a half-sister to Savvy Hallie, filled second, with the $1.2 million filly Rocket Girl, by I Am Invincible, finishing strongly into third.

A $550,000 Magic Millions purchase from Newgate Farm, Extremely Tempted is raced by a Kia Ora Stud-led ownership group.

The colt is by Extreme Choice and is the third winner from as many runners out of Group 3 winner Tempt Me Not.

“He’s a professional horse… I was very confident it was going to take a very good horse to run him down,” Bott said.
