Forever Young heads Dubai World Cup fields
Reigning Japanese Horse of the Year Forever Young headlines a nine‑horse field declared for the US$12 million G1 Dubai World Cup at Meydan on March 28, with several original contenders opting out of travelling to the Middle East.
Forever Young will be joined by the 2025 Dubai World Cup winner Hit Show as well as, Magnitude, Walk Of Stars and Imperial Emperor.
The G1 Dubai Sheema Classic has attracted seven possible runners, led by Calandagan, winner of the Japan Cup at his most recent start. Multiple top‑level winner Rebel’s Romance and Ethical Diamond are also among the leading contenders.
A strong field is shaping for the Dubai Turf, featuring multiple Group 1 winner Ombudsman, Queen Anne Stakes hero Docklands and reigning champion Facteur Cheval.
On other races, 2025 Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner Bentornato takes on defending Dubai Golden Shaheen victor Tuz, while Lazzat and Khaadem clash in the G1 Al Quoz Sprint.
“We are delighted to see horses from so many different countries here for this landmark 30th Dubai World Cup meeting,” said Erwan Charpy, Head of Racing Operations and International Relations at Dubai Racing Club. “To have so many defending and former champions back at Meydan is very pleasing.”
