Congrats, who spent four years shuttling to Vinery Stud in the Hunter Valley in the early 2010s, has died at age 25 in Florida.
Congrats, one of only a couple of sons of AP Indy to stand in Australia, produced over 130 winners from his four seasons shuttling, highlighted by multiple Listed winner In Good Health.
He is also the damsire of Group 1 Galaxy winner Private Harry, who will fill Yulong's slot in The Everest in 2025.
Through a racing career spanning four years, Congrats won at Group 2 level and was placed in the Group 1 Santa Anita Handicap and the Group 1 Hollywood Gold Cup Handicap while he finished fifth in the 2005 Group 1 Dubai World Cup.
He initially stood at Cloverleaf in Florida before moving to Vinery Stud from 2008 until 2012 and then shifting to WinStar in 2013. He was pensioned to Woodford, formally the site of Cloverleaf Farm, in October 2021.
Among his 932 global winners were Group 1 winners Turbulent Descent, Haveyougoneaway, Emma's Encore and Wickedly Perfect, while daughters of Congrats have produced Japan's globetrotters Forever Young and Danon Decile.
