Trainer Michael Freedman is prepared to play an early-spring waiting game with Golden Slipper-winning filly Marhoona.
Marhoona is almost ready to figure in a barrier trial but she’s unlikely to be seen at the races until the Group 2 Furious Stakes over 1200m at Randwick on September 6.
Freedman has the option of running Marhoona in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes at Randwick two weeks earlier.
But as a Group 1 winner, Marhoona will be obliged to carry a 3kg weight penalty in the Silver Shadow.
What a win by Marhoona in the G1 TAB Golden Slipper, proving dreams can come true!

The Furious Stakes is a more tempting alternative because the Snitzel filly will meet her rivals at level weights.
At just her third start, Marhoona upstaged Coolmore colt Wodeton to win the Golden Slipper after scraping into the field.
