Robbie Griffiths will step down as president of the Australian Trainers’ Association after almost 10 years at the helm.

The Cranbourne-based trainer is expected to hand over the reins to vice-president Troy Corstens.

Griffiths said a decision to relinquish the role came as his stable undergoes a transformation since the departure of co-trainer Mathew de Kock at the end of 2024.

"The catalyst was when I became a single trainer again and the need to focus in on that business but also racing is in a very strong position at the moment despite the impact on the wagering turnover," he told Racing.com.

"There are no real big-ticket items hanging over, so it will be on with the job for our members."

During his term, Griffiths played a significant role in supporting his fellow trainers during the pandemic, ensuring that racing continued despite COVID-19.

As president, Griffiths also oversaw more than 100 Racing Australia rule changes.
