Kent Jnr says Guest House remains on course for The Everest
The Golden Slipper winner has recovered well from his Golden Rose sixth, while his owners still have to decide whether to pursue an Everest start.
Michael Kent Jnr has said that the three-year-old colt Guest House has pulled up well after his Golden Rose defeat and remains on course for The Everest.
Speaking on Giddy Up with Gareth Hall, Kent Jnr said plans for The Everest remain on track, although the final decision rested with his owners, headed by Coolmore.
Guest House finished sixth behind Warwoven in Saturday’s Golden Rose, beaten 5.55 lengths as the $2.45 favourite after a bumping duel with St Gotthard.
Co-trainer Mick Price wants to send him to Coolmore’s Mount White facility for a freshen-up and cold-water treatment ahead of The Everest.
Coolmore bought into Guest House after the Golden Slipper in a deal valued at $30 million. Its Everest slot is the colt’s likely route into the 12-horse field if the owners press ahead.
Meawnhile, Group 1 winner Briasa has been sent to the paddock and will miss the spring, co-trainer Wayne Hawkes confirmed on SEN Track.
