Hanseatic gelding comes out on top at Selangor’s Community Sale
A son of Hanseatic, who was twice sold by Inglis as a yearling and then at its Ready to Race Sale, has topped the Selangor Turf Club’s inaugural Community Sale in Malaysia.
The two-year-old gelding, who was purchased by southern NSW-based trainer Darrell Burnet and resold at last October’s Inglis breeze-up sale, was the last of 33 lots in the Selangor sale, with India Horse Club winning out with a successful RM210,000 (A$76,105) bid.
Bred by Morningside Park in Victoria, the gelding was sold to the Selangor Turf Club by Burnet at Inglis’ Riverside Stables complex in Sydney after breezing up in 10.80 seconds.
A Royal Meeting gelding, who was also sold at the Inglis Ready to Race Sale last year, was the second highest-priced lot at the community sale, also selling to the India Horse Club for a price of RM192,500 (A$69,742).
A second auction will be held next month with a further 10 lots featuring two-year-olds who were acquired by the Selangor Turf Club in New Zealand.
At least 24 races worth up to 200,000 ringgit (A$72,000) will be run exclusively for graduates of the sales, much like the races conducted by Magic Millions, Inglis and NZB for their sale graduates.
Inglis Digital’s online auction platform was used to conduct the sale.
