Trainer Jeff Dunn and jockey Rikki Jamieson have turned the $200,000 Ramornie Handicap into a true family affair with Sha Of Gomer’s victory in the Listed race.
One of the highlights of the five-day Grafton Cup carnival, the Ramornie is a time-honoured sprint but rarely has it meant so much for her connections.
Dunn and Jamieson are a husband-and-wife team and the Ramornie result is their biggest in racing.
Sha Of Gomer ($10) sat just behind the leaders and had the race in his keeping at the 150m before scoring a 1-1/4 length victory.
Dunn is a former stunt rider who is building up stable at Beaudesert in southeast Queensland.
"This would have been great for me but I will never surpass this in my career now because Rikki was on," Dunn told Sky Racing.
A rising six-year-old by Shalaa who cost $320,000 as a yearling, Sha Of Gomer was having his sixth start for Dunn after coming out of the all-conquering Chris Waller stable.

He found form with an Ipswich restricted-class win in May before a narrow defeat in the Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich three starts ago.
Sha Of Gomer made amends for his Eye Liner heartbreak in winning the Rockhampton Newmarket 12 days ago.
Sha Of Gomer's victory ended an 11-year stakes race drought for Jamieson after she claimed the 2014 The Phoenix at Eagle Farm aboard Lucky Tom.
"Doing it with Jeff makes it better for me," Jamieson said.
"I've had a bit of a career myself and he is just beginning. He just needs a few more decent horses to pick him up because he trains so well and we work really well as a team."
