Inglis releases catalogue for weanlings, broodmares at Great Southern Sale
Pinhookers will have one final opportunity to source a weanling on Australia’s eastern seaboard via Inglis’ Great Southern Sale.

A total of 492 lots – 425 weanlings and 67 broodmares – have been catalogued for the two-day sale, to be held at Oaklands on Thursday June 13 and Friday June 14.
Weanlings by breed-shaping sires Frankel, I Am Invincible, Zoustar, Snitzel, Lord Kanaloa, Wootton Bassett, Toronado and Written Tycoon headline a spectacular offering of foals.
There is also a wide selection of exciting first-season sires represented such as Aclaim, Acrobat, Extreme Warrior, Home Affairs, Palace Pier, Pinatubo, Portland Sky, Profiteer, St Mark’s Basilica, Stay Inside, Tiger of Malay, Victor Ludorum, Wild Ruler and Wooded.
Pinhook results from last year’s offering include $280,000 into $500,000, $80,000 into $270,0000, $120,000 into $300,000, $40,000 into $180,000, and $120,000 into $260,000.
High-profile Great Southern graduates include Montefilia, Behemoth, Sopressa, Extra Brut, Douceur, Gytrash, On The Bubbles and Lunar Fox.
Inglis’ Victorian bloodstock manager James Price is confident the catalogue has all the right ingredients for buyers to enjoy both short-term and long-term success.
“There have been many great stories from the sale in recent years and some life-changing results, so we are looking forward to another competitive renewal of the sale in June,” he said.
“The Great Southern Sale catalogue will again present a range of fantastic opportunities for buyers to invest at all levels of the market.”
The broodmare catalogue this year is also enticing with mares on covers to stallions such as Alabama Express, Blue Point, Grunt, Harry Angel, Jacquinot, Ole Kirk, Pierata, Pierro, Pinatubo, Royal Meeting, Shamus Award, Spirit of Boom, Tassort, The Autumn Sun, Toronado, Wootton Bassett, Zousain etc.
The broodmares will be offered on Friday, June 14 at the completion of the weanling session.
Supplementary entries for the Great Southern Sale are now open and will remain so until Wednesday, June 5.
