Jennivamoose withdrawn as 29 cleared to accept for Melbourne Cup

Jennivamoose has been withdrawn from the $10.2 million Lexus Melbourne Cup by her connections despite passing Racing Victoria’s first pre-race veterinary inspection on Thursday, when 29 other entries were cleared to accept for the 3200-metre race at Flemington on November 3.

RV veterinarians examined 36 horses. Five horses were not passed and will be re-examined before final acceptances close at 4.30pm on Saturday.

Defiantly, equal first in the order of entry, presented without a right hind shoe and with a change in gait compared with previous examinations, and will be checked again on Saturday morning once re-shod. Vauban (13th) and Litzdeel (32nd) will be re-examined on Friday morning, and Enfjaar (17th) and Wine Dark Sea (18th) on Saturday morning, all after presenting with changes in gait.

The Euphrates and Kings Valley did not present and were withdrawn by their connections, while Stinger Glass will undergo his first mandatory examination on Friday.
