Trainer Ciaron Maher will ramp up what is likely to be veteran mare Pride Of Jenni's final racing campaign with a 1000m jumpout at Cranbourne on Monday.

The eight-year-old three-time Group 1 winner, who won twice in four starts during the autumn, has been booked into champion stallion I Am Invincible for her maiden mating at stud this spring.

But her owner Tony Ottobre plans on racing the daughter of Pride Of Dubai on while in the early stages of her pregnancy and Maher is currently training the mare from his Cranbourne base in Victoria.

“A horse like this only comes once in a lifetime, and she’ll have her own carer throughout her entire life now. So, wherever she goes, there will be a carer going with her," Ottobre said in June when announcing that Pride Of Jenni would be served by Yarraman Park's champion sire this year.

"We’re bringing in Caroline Kirwin from Ireland. Prior to that, we had Samantha Waters at the Ciaron Maher stables. Wherever Pride Of Jenni went, Sam was there all the time, and she never left her side at the stables."

Pride Of Jenni's most memorable win was the 2024 Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick when leading the 2000m race by up to 30 lengths and eventually holding on to score by 6.5 lengths in front of Via Sistina.
