Ka Ying Rising, the world’s highest sprinter, has arrived in Australia without incident after an overnight flight from Hong Kong.

A box-office horse of Hong Kong racing and long-time favourite to win the $20 million Everest, Ka Ying Rising is the first international horse here for Sydney’s 2025 spring carnival to take residence at Canterbury.

Ka Ying Rising will be stabled at the Australian Turf Club’s quarantine and training facility in Sydney’s inner west during his first overseas campaign.

He is a pronounced Everest favourite after compiling a streak of 13 wins, with the latest coming in the Chief Executive's Cup at Sha Tin under 61kg in early September.

Jockey Zac Purton will travel to Sydney to ride Ka Ying Rising in a barrier trial at Randwick on October 7 and return for the Everest ride on October 18.
