Magic Millions has unveiled a 380-Lot catalogue for its Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, the source of a host of high-class horses.
The $14.5 million Magic Millions race day, held last month, provided a reminder to the quality of horses on offer at the March sale with Tony Gollan’s Hidden Wealth, the Lee Freedman-trained Encoder and Liam Birchley’s two-year-old Amosu all bought out of the Queensland Thoroughbred Incentive Scheme (QTIS) auction.
Queensland’s premier stallions Spirit Of Boom and Better Than Ready, as expected, will be heavily represented with 55 yearlings catalogued by the pair.
First-season sires Barbaric and Jonker will also have strong representation with 27 yearlings each in the sale.
The sale will be held on March 10 and 11, a week before the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
"The Gold Coast March Yearling Sale provides buyers with incredible incentives alongside quality yearlings," Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said.
"Season after season graduates of the sale star for their connections around the state, country and abroad - from the likes of Buffering, Apache Chase and Spirit of Boom to recent million dollar race winners Encoder and Hidden Wealth and Magic Millions Debut winner Amosu."
Underscoring the value-for-money horses consistently on offer at the March sale, Hidden Wealth was purchased for $110,000, the Dream Thoroughbreds-raced Encoder cost $40,000 while Better Than Ready’s Amosu cost $60,000.
Every Lot in the sale is eligible for the $20 million plus Magic Millions Race Series. Additionally, the entire catalogue is either QTIS Fully Paid or QTIS First Payment and eligible to run for over $13 million in QTIS bonuses as well as exclusive races such as the $1.5 million Racing Queensland Magic Millions QTIS Open and $500,000 QTIS Jewels for two and three-year-olds.
Buyers at the Gold Coast in March will benefit from a reduced Magic Millions Race Series nomination fee of $4,752.
