Widden confirmed this week that David Merrick, who has served as Widden’s Stud Manager since 1992, will assume the role of Bloodstock Consultant.

The advisory position will see Merrick provide “strategic guidance and insights based on his consummate knowledge, lifetime of experience and exceptional horsemanship skills.”

Walsh, who has worked in Ireland, the United States and Coolmore Australia, has been at Widden for four years.

The assistant stud manager role will be filled by Tyler Frazer, who has worked at Arrowfield, Glastonbury and Darley, with his most recent role as Assistant Broodmare Manager at Yarraman Park.

"We are excited to announce these changes, which represent a strategic evolution for our farm,” principal Antony Thompson said.

“As a team, Ben, Tyler, and David in his advisory position, bring a wealth of passion, talent and experience to their respective roles, and I have every confidence in their ability to provide the best care to the horses and advice to our clients."
