A shuffling of responsibilities at Racing Queensland has seen Melinda Martin appointed as chief operating officer.
Martin, who was previously executive general manager club partnerships and assets and has worked for Racing Queensland since 2017, began the COO role this week.
She confirmed her appointment on social network site LinkedIn.
Before working for Racing Queensland, Martin was a contracts auditor for Coliban Water, having previously worked as a project management consultant.
The Straight understands the title of chief operating officer did not exist under the previous management structure, but Adam Wallish's departure from the role of executive manager, operations, prompted a change in roles and responsibilities.
Wallish retired from his RQ role, leaving earlier this month having worked there since 2017.
Racing Queensland executive team under chief executive Jason Scott, now includes Martin, chief financial and strategy officer Lachlan Murray, executive general manager customer and corporate affairs Richard Goodbody, executive general manager infrastructure Brian Henningsen, executive general manager legal, risk and compliance David Morgans and executive general manager veterinary services and Animal Welfare, Karen Caldwell.
