First-crop stallions Anders and Tagaloa finished off the metropolitan season in style, with respective winners at Doomben and Warwick Farm.

Debutant Anders’ Style prevailed for trainer Peter Robl and jockey Jag Guthmann-Chester at Doomben over 1200 metres.

It was an impressive maiden win from the gelding, who was an $80,000 Magic Millions buy and now races in the colours of Upper Bloodstock.

Given that connection, he looks a prospective Hong Kong horse in the future.

A seventh winner for Widden’s Anders, he is half-brother to Group 3-placed Amica and is the seventh winner from eight foals to race from Femina Fashion.

At Warwick Farm, Tambeloa became the fifth winner for Yulong’s Tagaloa, overhauling his rivals in a 1600-metre maiden.

A half-brother to stakes-placed pair Major Conquest and stakes-placed Kinagat out of multiple stakes winner Gamble Me, Tambeloa was a $60,000 Magic Millions buy.

Trainer Kristen Buchanan is thinking Classic targets for the raw but promising colt, who was having his third start.

“It's really exciting. He's a big baby. He's only two, just about to turn three, I know,” she said.

“He’s been showing a lot of promise. It's a big deal to come here and win. I'm very happy with him.”
