Leading South Australian jockey Lachlan Neindorf will relocate to Victoria early in the new racing season.
“I kept it on a bit of a down low. I just wanted to sort few things out. Obviously I was focused on finishing the season in Adelaide off strongly,” Neindorf said.
“But it was always on the back burner and it was something me and my manager spoke about.”
Neindorf notched his second Group 1 win when Femminile claimed this season’s South Australian Derby.
That victory planted a seed for Neindorf to return to Victoria where he rode as an apprentice from 2020 until 2022.
“Off the back of a second consecutive year Group 1 it probably just looks that little more appealing on the resume,” Neindorf said.
Neindorf rode 40 metropolitan winners in SA for the season to finish third on the premiership.
