A collection of Godolphin’s promising rising three-year-olds have entered new stables as James Cummings prepares to sign off as Sheikh Mohammed’s private trainer at the end of the month.
Last-start Group 2 Percy Sykes-winning filly Tempted has already joined trainer Ciaron Maher’s Bong Bong Farm stable in the NSW Southern Highlands while lightly raced Ghaiyyath colt Observer is in work at his Cranbourne base.
Observer won his second start at Sandown in early June before being beaten as favourite at Flemington on June 21.
Rival trainer Joe Pride has Group 1 winner Golden Mile and stakes-performed Snitzel colt Comedy in training at Warwick Farm while Bjorn Baker has Street Boss colt Green Spaces in work for Godolphin.
Green Spaces won his second start at Geelong in April before being spelled after finishing fifth at the Gosford standalone Saturday meeting in May.
One of nine Victoria and NSW-based trainers chosen by Godolphin to train their horses from the start of the new season, Baker will also train multiple Group 1 placegetter Pericles for Sheikh Mohammed.
Cummings' contract as Godolphin Australia's private trainer ends on July 31. He will train in Hong Kong from the start of the 2026/27 racing season.
