Vinery Stud's champion first season sire Ole Kirk has been valued at $60 million, a jump of 33 per cent in a little over a year.
A 1 per cent share in the Written Tycoon stallion, who is closely related to Black Caviar and his Vinery roster mate All Too Hard, was sold for $600,000 to Hong Kong-based owner and breeder Eric Yeung via Inglis Digital on Wednesday.
Ole Kirk's service fee was increased to $99,000 (inc GST) this seeason on the back of a brilliant start to his stud career, with his first crop producing Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner O' Ole, Breeders' Plate winner King Kirk and Legacy Bound.
Ole Kirk is also the sire of Listed-winning Prestige Forever who is raced by Yeung and now trained by Matt Laurie after former trainer David Brideoake retired at the end of last season.
A share was sold privately in Ole Kirk last July which valued him at $40 million.
Yeung also paid $180,000 for a 2.5 per cent share in Widden Victoria's Group 1 Manikato Stakes and Australian Guineas winner Southport Tycoon at the same online sale.
The sale values Southport Tycoon, who is standing for a fee of $38,500 (inc GST) this year in his first season at stud, at $7.2 million.
Meanwhile, syndicator Darby Racing paid $135,000 for Melbourne city-winning Shalaa mare Catahoula at the Digital sale. The five-year-old. who ran third at Sandown last week, was trained by Team Hawkes.
