Paddy Power sets up casino presence

Iconic betting brand Paddy Power has rolled the dice on its first-ever sportsbook inside a casino.

The Flutter-owned wagering outfit has teamed up with London’s Hippodrome, to launch the retail concept.

It includes five self-service terminals and a hospitality zone, with wall-to-wall live sport.

As UK betting shop numbers continue to slide – the Gambling Commission’s latest stats show a 5 per cent hit to betting shop turnover in the first quarter of the 2025/26 financial year – Paddy Power has looked to pursue a different. retail angle

Paddy Power’s retail boss Rupert Ellwood said the tie-up plays to the punter who wants more than just a bet.

“Customers increasingly want a social atmosphere and great entertainment and the Hippodrome is the most iconic social space in London,” he said. “It’s a dream collaboration.”
