Group chief financial officer Andrew Mellor will leave PointsBet early in 2024 amid a restructuring that follows the wagering firm's sale of its US business.

Mellor will step down after five years in the role in which he transformed finance and investor relations during the company's expansion across 16 wagering jurisdictions.

He will be replaced as group CFO by Alister Lui following the release of the company's half-yearly results in February.

Lui, the current CFO and head of group finance of PointsBet's Australian operation, has been a key member of the company's finance team for the past six years.

He is a chartered accountant with more than 17 years’ experience in senior banking and finance roles in London and Melbourne.

In light of PointsBet's sale of its US business to Fanatics Betting and Gaming, Melissa Fitzpatrick will also leave her position as group people officer.

Fitzpatrick's position was made redundant as a result of the US sale.

Her position will be absorbed into the PointsBet Australian and Canadian human resource divisions.
