Ramdhani resigns as Gold Coast track manager, replaces Ross at Australian Turf Club
Nevesh Ramdhani has quit his post as Gold Coast racetrack manager after less than two years in the job to return to the Australian Turf Club (ATC).

Ramdhani has been appointed to the ATC’s head of racing and wagering role and will start work on May 22.
He replaces James Ross, who has accepted a senior position at the Hong Kong Jockey Club,
Ramdhani had previously spent 12 years in Sydney, working as the Randwick track manager before overseeing the operation of the ATC’s four tracks in 2019 as the club’s general manager of racecourses.
ATC chief executive Matt Galanos said Ramdhani’s appointment would fill a critical position on the club’s senior executive team.
“This role involves not only the oversight of track management at each of our racecourses but also the racing and wagering department of the Australian Turf Club,” he said.
Ramdhani joined the Gold Coast Turf Club in June 2022, hired to manage a $38 million track redevelopment.
The project included the construction of an all-weather racetrack and a refurbished course proper and installing lights for night racing.
His departure comes as the club counts down to one of its most significant days of the year, the Group 2 AD Hollindale Stakes meeting, which will be held on May 11 and includes six black-type races.
The Gold Coast racetrack has endured a chequered time since re-opening in January.
A feature raceday in March drew widespread criticism over the state of the racing surface and all subsequent Gold Coast meetings have been held on the synthetic track.
The course proper had undergone sandgrooving since it hosted the rich Magic Millions meeting in January.
The Straight was told that Gold Coast officials and Racing Queensland had different opinions about how the renovation process should be handled, with the state’s regulator winning out.
