Some of the better three-year-old staying races could be on the agenda for American Pharoah filly Redbreast, who will debut over 1200m at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Adrian Bott, who trains in partnership with Gai Waterhouse, says it's hard not to be excited by the trial star, who could end up on an Oaks path if she can deliver on her early promise.

"I thought she looks well, I've been most taken with her trial performances, she's in good order, she's one that's only going to continue to improve as she gets over further being by that sire, I think she's going to be a mile, 2000 metres filly but she's a nice type and it's hard not to be impressed with what we've seen at the trials," Bott told SKY Radio.

A winner of her first trial over 900m by five lengths at Rosehill before being ridden out to hold second in her latest hit out over 1050m at Randwick, Redbreast is by American triple crown winner American Pharoah, typically a staying breed.

"I think she's a staying type, we'll put her on that type of path for those sorts of fillies and she's got to do a little bit to get to there but if she can go through her classes and work her way up in trip towards that grade, it certainly wouldn't surprise me to see her deeper into the carnival be competitive in races such as those," Bott said.

In the same race, the stable will also saddle up Ditterich, a colt by Exceed And Excel for the Rosemont Stud 'Victorian Alliance', who ran second in his initial trial to the same horse that edged out Redbreast, Merchant Lady before finishing a close-up fifth at his latest trial.

"First trial he showed a bit of promise, last trial was a little bit disappointing, he's sort of been off the scene for a while so he's giving away a bit of experience there and he's got some upside going forward, we're probably going to see a bit more from him when we can stretch him out a little bit further," Bott said.

Tim Clark will stick with early $3.80 favourite Redbreast having ridden the filly in her latest trial while Regan Bayliss will partner $26 chance Ditterich.
