Riches heads to Dubbo as Cairns Jockey Club appoints new manager
The Cairns Jockey Club will undergo a leadership transition with long-serving general manager Cameron Riches to depart at the end of April to join Dubbo Turf Club in NSW.
Riches, who has spent a major part of his working life at Cannon Park, leaves after overseeing significant commercial and event growth, including securing the club’s landmark partnership with Ladbrokes and establishing the Cairns Super Carnival through the merger of the Cairns Cup and Cairns Amateurs.
He will be succeeded by sports and events executive Sarah Campbell, who brings more than two decades of industry experience to the role.
Campbell has previously worked with Cairns Regional Council on the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games and held roles with South Australian Jockey Club, Adelaide United and FIFA events.
Her appointment comes ahead of the 2026 Ladbrokes Cairns Super Carnival, scheduled to run from August 21 to 29.
