Sports Entertainment Group’s takeover of the former racing industry-owned radio station RSN is now complete, with SENTrack operating across both frequencies from Monday.
The deal, confirmed in July, is now complete with SEG to pay off the $3.25 million purchase price for the audio and digital broadcasting assets of 3UZ Pty Ltd across three years.
RSN’s former staff farewelled the station at the weekend, with veteran media figure Andrew Bensley, the station’s program director since 2022, confirming he was retiring after 47 years in the industry.
“All I ever wanted to do was work in radio. The dream did come true,” Bensley said.
Gareth Hall’s Giddy Up has taken the place of Michael Felgate’s former morning program Racing Pulse on RSN, while breakfast presenter Daniel Harford has also departed.
Sports Entertainment Group, which owns the SEN brands, last week reported a profit after tax of $22.9 million with an underlying EBITDA of $10.5 million, indicating an organic growth rate of 62 per cent.
In FY25, SEG's revenue increased by $2.4 million, and as of the end of the financial year, it had a net cash position of $1.3 million.
