RTG Global Awards expand for 2027

Nominations have officially opened for the 2027 RTG Global Awards, with organisers expanding the program from six to 12 categories following the success of the inaugural awards earlier this year.

Presented by Regulating the Game, the awards recognise leadership, innovation and contribution across the global gambling regulatory and wagering industry sectors.

The expanded program introduces six new categories: Gambling Harm Prevention Campaign, Research Impact, Sport and Wagering Integrity Initiative, Compliance Advisory, Black Market Disruption Initiative and Distinguished Contribution.

The new awards join six existing categories that debuted in 2026, including Leadership Voice, Safer Gambling Champion, Compliance Excellence and Emerging Leader.

Regulating the Game founder and Vanguard Overwatch principal Paul Newson said the expanded awards reflected growing industry interest in recognising excellence across a broader range of disciplines.

“The inaugural awards showed the appetite across our sector to recognise the people and organisations lifting standards, strengthening integrity and improving outcomes,” Newson said.

“For 2027 we have widened the field to twelve categories so that recognition reaches further, across harm prevention, integrity, research and enduring contribution, as well as leadership and compliance.”

Nominations are open globally to individuals, organisations and initiatives, with both self-nominations and third-party submissions accepted for work undertaken within the previous 12 months. They close on December 21.

Finalists will be announced on February 1, 2027, with winners revealed at the RTG Global Awards Gala Dinner at Sydney’s Sofitel Wentworth on March 9, 2027.
