Sale’s meeting on Thursday has been moved to Sunday in anticipation of more rain falling in Gippsland overnight.
The track received 25 mms of rain in the 24 hours up to 5pm on Wednesday and with more rain due to fall, the decision was made to move the meeting back three days.
“No turf tracks in the region were available to accommodate the meeting tomorrow, and with the weather forecast set to improve towards the end of the week, retaining the meeting at Sale was deemed the most suitable option,” a Racing Victoria statement said.
The fields for Sunday’s nine-race meeting will remain with all scratchings now reinstated.
Hawkesbury’s meeting is set to progress despite 40 mm of rain overnight on Tuesday. Trials scheduled for Newcastle on Friday have been moved to next Wednesday.
