Saudi Arabia’s Neom Turf Cup to be worth US$3 million
Saudi Arabia’s newest Group 1 race, the Neom Turf Cup, will offer a record US$3 million purse in 2026, following a 50 per cent prize money increase.
The Neom Turf Cup, the nation’s first Group 1 race on turf, is a 2,100-metre invitational for Northern Hemisphere four-year-olds and older, and Southern Hemisphere three-year-olds and older.
In just six years, the race has attracted international talent, with Japanese runner Shin Emperor winning this year’s edition, ahead of Calif and beaten Melbourne Cup favourite Al Riffa.
The Saudi Cup card on February 14 will also see the Listed Tuwaiq Cup’s prize money doubled to $1 million.
The 1,800-metre dirt race is open to the same age groups as the Neom Turf Cup.
