Anderson sticks with family in buying Lazzago
Robert Anderson played his role in the career of three-time Group 1 winner Zougotcha, the $5.25 million Magic Millions National Broodmare sale-topper, and the breeder wasted little time in reinvesting at the Gold Coast.
A renowned breeder and long-time client of Widden Stud, Anderson and Hunter Valley farmer Paul Frampton teamed up to buy the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes winner Lazzago he bred for $1.4 million, the second highest-priced lot sold on Wednesday, who was offered in foal to Zoustar.
Lazzago, who sold to Debbie Kepitis’ Woppitt Bloodstock for $460,000 as a yearling at the Inglis Easter sale in 2022, will head Widden Stud where she was born and raised.
