Gold Trip has run his last race with the Melbourne Cup winner to stand at stud in Victoria.

Almost 500 Lots have been catalogued for the Inglis Great Southern Sale in Melbourne in June.

For over a decade, the progeny of Wordsmith, most carrying the Gee Gees moniker, dominated Tasmanian racing. But with the passing of owner Paul Geard and the retirement of the prolific chestnut from stud, that era is coming to an end.

Aquis has added multiple American Grade 3 winner Officiating to its Queensland roster for the 2024 season, with the son of Blame to stand at $12,500 (inc GST).

Benedetta pounced at Morphettville to claim a valuable Group 1 in The Goodwood, while Numerian continued Annabel Neasham’s iron grip on the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes.

Inglis’ week of breeding sales in Sydney wrapped up with a low-key Australian Broodmare Sale, featuring drops in average, aggregate and median on last year and two lots selling for $240,000.

Royal Meeting will continue his stud career in Victoria as a banner sire for a new bloodstock operation.
