The sale saw 224 yearlings catalogued, with 202 going through the ring at the Riverside Stables. A total of 151 sold, a clearance rate of 75 per cent, with the average price reaching $19,430 and median $10,000.

Those metrics are down on last year, when 219 yearlings sold at 82 per cent with an average of $20,550 and a median of $12,000. The aggregate was down from $4.5 million to just under $3 million as the lower end of the market continued to feel the pain of greater buyer discretion.
