Tempted has opened as favourite to continue a Godolphin domination of the Group 1 Golden Rose.
When final acceptors were taken on Tuesday, Tempted was the only filly declared in a field of nine for the $1 million race at Rosehill on Saturday.
Since the Golden Rose was elevated to Group 1 status in 2009, six winners have carried the colours of Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin/Darley outfit.
The most recent of those victories came in 2024 when Broadsiding defeated stablemate Traffic Warden in the 1400m contest for three-year-olds.
A Golden Slipper placegetter last season, Tempted made her 2025/2026 seasonal debut in style under new trainer Ciaron Maher with her Group 2 Run To The Rose win at Rosehill on September 13.
The daughter of Street Boss heads early Golden Rose betting at $3.50 ahead of Autumn Boy ($4) and Wodeton ($4.50) - both from the Chris Waller stable.
Tempted has drawn barrier eight with Autumn Boy in gate seven and Wodeton to start from the rails.
Among Waller’s four runners in search of the trainer’s fourth Golden Rose win will be Beiwacht, a more than able support act for Godolphin.
