The Goffs Orby Sale in Ireland delivered a trio of seven-figure results on its second day as buyers broke records, led by a sister to Group 1 winner Blackbeard.
Coolmore’s MV Magnier purchased the €1.9 million No Nay Never filly, the second time in Orby history a Blackbeard sibling topped the sale, following Run Away in 2022.
“She is a lovely filly and all of the lads liked her,” Magnier said.
“Again, No Nay Never is having another brilliant year. He's a very good stallion. Blackbeard was a very good two-year-old and, to be fair to him, he's making very good stock and they are all selling very well.
Amo Racing spent €1 million on a Night Of Thunder filly out of Group 1 winner No Speak Alexander and a total of €3.1 million across nine purchases, while Blue Diamond Stud’s Imad Al Sagar secured a Lope De Vega filly for €1 million.
The sale saw sharp rises across key figures: 389 of 435 horses sold for an 89 per cent clearance, turnover was up to €52.2 million ( up 2 per cent), a median up 23 per cent to €98,000, and an average of €134,000 (up 5 per cent).
Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby described it as a “consistent” renewal, highlighting strong international competition from UK, US, the Gulf, and other major global buyers.
