Tiffany Case leads Keeneland January Sale opener at $US3.2 Million

Tiffany Case, the dam of Eclipse Award finalist Nitrogen and in foal to Not This Time, sold for $US3.2 million to Mandy Pope’s Whisper Hill Farm to top the opening day of Keeneland’s January Horses of All Ages Sale.

The transaction marked the highest-priced offering at the January Sale since 2019, when Abel Tasman sold for $US5 million.

The first session also featured the $2 million sale of Grade 1 winner Simply in Front and an $800,000 Gun Runner yearling colt, the most expensive yearling at the auction in 11 years.

Keeneland sold 319 horses for $US31,706,400 during Monday’s session, an increase of 75.30 per cent compared with the opening day of the 2025 sale.

The average rose 9.91 per cent to $US99,393, while the median declined 35.38 per cent to $US42,000, with two horses selling for $1 million or more compared with none above that level last year.
