Tommy Stokes joins father Phillip in training partnership
Group 1-winning trainer Phillip Stokes will begin training in partnership with his eldest son Tommy from Saturday, with stable runners expected at Flemington and Morphettville.
The partnership formalises Tommy Stokes’ long-standing role managing the South Australian arm of the family’s dual-state training operation.
Tommy Stokes had overseen the Adelaide stable, winning premierships after assuming greater responsibility when his father was unable to travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He previously gained international experience working in Japan for Darley and has spent the past 12 months working alongside his father at Pakenham.
The restructure also sees Phillip Stokes’ younger son Kerrin assume responsibility for the Adelaide stable.
